BEATON [margin notes] MONTFORD to BEYTON} deed This Indenture made and entered into this 26th day of January in the Year of Christ [1836?] between Thomas MONTFORD and Lucy LOWE of the County of Isle of Wight and State of Virginia of the one part and William T. BEYTON of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Thomas MONTFORD and Lucy LOWE doth for and in Consideration of Seventy dollars lawfull Money of the State aforesaid by the said William T. BEYTON to the said Thomas MONTFORD and said Lucy LOWE in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, unto the said William T. BEYTON his heirs and assigns forever, one Certain tract or parcel of land Lying and being in the County and State aforesaid, Containing by estimation Fifty Three acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows (to wit) begining at the Road leading from Black Water bridge to Suffolk and joining the land of William JOHNSON, purchased of Hezekiah RICHARDS & wife, thence a southward Course along a line of Marked trees to lightwood stump standing in a branch adjoining Josiah P. GAY and said William T. BEYTON, thence a westward Course along said BEYTONs line, to a small dogwood [page break] adjoining Willis ELEY, thence a northward Course along Said Millis ELEY's line to the Road sforesaid along Said Road to wards Suffolk to the beginning and First Station To have and to hold the Said tract or parcell of land, together with all and Singular its Appurtenances unto the land belonging or in any wise appurtaining unto the said William T. BEYTON his heirs and assigns forever- And the said Thomas MONTFORD and Lucy LOWE doth for themselves and their heirs, Warrant and forever defend the title of Said land to Said William T.
