VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Deed Book 20, pp. 590-91 12 May 1807 William MOUNTFORD to John ELEY Deed of Bargain & Sale [margin note] MOUNTFORTT to ELEY } Deed This Indenture made the twelfth day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and Seven Between William MOUNTFORTT of Isle of Wight County of the one part, and John ELEY of Said County of the other Witnesseth that the said William MOUNTFORTT in consideration of fifty Seven pounds, fourteen Shillings and Six pence to him in hand paid by the Said John ELEY at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and Sold and doth bargain & Sell unto the Said John ELEY a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the county aforesaid, being the land left to the Said William MOUNTFORTT by his father Will- Begining at a hickory tree in Joseph JOHNSONs line, thence alond the Said JOHNSONs line to Joseph DUCKs line, down the DUCKs line to Black water, thence up the Said black water its various courses to a Cypress tree standing in the mouth of the deep branch that empts into the goose pond, thence a Straight line to the begining Containing one hundred and ten Acres more or less, together with all and Singular the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents, issues and profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the Said tract or parcel of land with all and Singular the houses, gardens, Orchards, woods, waters, and water courses, the tenements, hereditaments and all and Singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be Sold and [page break] every part and parcel thereof,with every of his right, members and appurtenances unto the said John ELEY his heirs and assigns forever- and the Said William MOUNTFORTT for himself and his heirs the Said tract of land with all and Singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the Said John ELEY, his heirs and Assigns- free from the claim or claims of him the Said William MOUNTFORTT or his heirs and of all & every other person or persons whatsoever, Shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the Said William MOUNTFORTT have hereunto Set his hand and Seal the day and year first written above- William MOUNTFORTT *Seal* Signed Sealed & delivered} In presence of-----------} Arthur FOWLER----} Elizabeth JOHNSON} X her mark } John M.
