CRUMPLER Deed of Trust [margin notes] MUNFORD & wf To } BEATON Tst D.T. This Deed made this 16_th day of March 1881. between William E. MUNFORD and Emily J. his wife of the one part and John H. BEATON Trustee of the other part both parties of the County of Isle of Wight and State of Virginia. Witnesseth that the said W.E. MUNFORD and Emily J. his wife doth grant unto John H. BEATON Trustee the following property to wit: a certain tract of land situated in the County of Isle of Wight V.a and adjoining the lands of Adom BRADSHAW, Thomas M. SAUNDERS, H.T. MORRISS et als, and Known as the Lucy LOWE & Thomas MUNFORD land, it being the same purchased by the said William E. MUNFORD. of Mills L. WATKINS and wife, as shewn by deed dated 26_th Augt, 1874, & recorded in the Clerks Office of Isle of Wight County Virginia, and contains Two Hundred and fifty seven acres more or less. In trust to secure to C.B. CRUMPLER of the County of Isle of Wight Virginia, the payment of our bond for One Hundred and twenty five dollars ($125,00) dated 16_th March 1881, and payable nine months after date, and upon the further trust, that the said W.E. MUNFORD shall remain in quiet possession of the above described premises, and take the profits thereof- to his own use until default be made in the payment aforesaid, in whole or in part, and upon such default being made, the said Jno. H. BEATON Tst. shall so soon thereof as he shall be requested by the said C.B. CRUMPLER or his legal representative so to do, sell the above granted property at public auction at such time & place, and put the terms & conditions as he may deem expedient, having first given notice of such time & place [page break] [p.] 632 of sale, for at least ten days, by posting advertisements as one or more places in Isle of Wight County V.a, and out of the proceeds of such sale, after paying all the expenses of sale and the execution of this trust including Commissions on said proceeds of sale to the said John H. BEATON Trustee, shall pay the said C.B. CRUMPLER his heirs or assigns the debt aforesaid with interest thereon, or so much thereof as may remain unpaid, and the balance, if any, to the said W.E. MUNFORD The said W.E. MUNFORD and Emily J. his wife Covenant that they will warrant the property hereby conveyed, and will pay all taxes, levies and assessments and leans [twice underlined] on said property so long as they shall remain in possession of the same and the said grantors do hereby Waive the benefit of the homestead law as to the above named debt & this Contract. MUNFORD the wife of the said W.m E. MUNFORD whose names are signed to the aforesaid deed bearing date as above mentioned, came personally before me in my said County, and being by me examined privilly and apart from her husband, and having the said writing fully explained to her, she the said Emily J.
