Assignment of Dower 

In the County Court of Isle of Wight County, Oct. 3_rd 1881 
On Motion of Z.A. MUNFORD, John A. MUNFORD, Geo. W. MUNFORD, Eviline FOWLER, 
Cammilla C. BARRET, and Margaret A. BRADSHAW the heirs at Law of Zachariah 
MUNFORD dec'd, the court doth order that J.W. DUCK, Jesse B. JOHNSON, Willis 
H. VAUGHAN, Elisha JOYNER and Porter D. HOWELL  any three of whom may act, be 
appointed, and they are hereby appointed commissioners after being duly sworn 
to allot and assign to Margaret MUNFORD widow of said Zachariah MUNFORD or her 
assigns as and for her dower in the real estate of which said Zachariah 
MUNFORD died seized and possessed in fee one [underlined] full and equal third 
part thereof in quantity and quality by metes and bounds and make report to 
the Court -

We the undersigned Your commissioners to assign by metes and bounds to

MUNFORD or her assigns out of the lands of which Zachariah MUNFORD dec'd as 
and for her dower by order of said Court made at the Oct. term 1881, a copy of 
which is herewith filed  beg leave to make the following report - 
On the 13_th day of Oct. 1881 after being duly sworn proceeded to view and set 
apart the following described land as and for the said lands of which said 
Zachariah MUNFORD died seized and possessed  beginning at a point on the Co. 
road leading from Mt. Carmel to Franklin at the line between Ms. Ann 
STEPHENSON and Zachariah MUNFORD running said line to a sweet Gum on Eviline 
FOWLER, thence along said line between Eviline FOWLER and said Zachariah 
MUNFORD tract to a marked Holly, thence along a line of marked trees to a post 
oak on the line between the lands of Jos. E.T. JOYNER and the said Zachariah 
tract, and thence along said line to said County road and thence said County 
road to the starting point aforesaid during the natural life of said Margaret 
MUNFORD widow of said Zachariah MUNFORD dec'd - 
Witness our hands this 13_th day of October 1881 -
