Murphy, 29 Apr 2002] To all &c Whereas &c Now Know ye that I the Said Sir William Berkely Knt. doo with the Advice and Comfort of the Councill of State Accordingly give and Grant unto Edw. Murfrey and John Vaughan twelve hundred Acres of Land~ lyeing on the Southward side of Potomock river on the EaStermoSt Side of a Small Creek called Ceder Island Creek and beginning at the mouth thereof and runs SouthEaSt prarell Potomock river four hundred poles unto two marked Gums in a MarShey Pond & thence SouthweSt three hundred and Twenty poles unto a Marked pocikery Tree and thence NorthweSt forty poles to another Pocikery in the EaStermoSt Branch and then following the Said Branch unto the Creek and then prarell to the Creek to the place where it begun, the said Twelve hundred Acres of Land is due Unto the Said Edward Murfrey and John Vaughan by and for the Transportation of four and Twenty persons into this Colony whoSe Names are in the record mention'd under this Patent- To have and to hold er&c to be held er&c Yeilding and paying unto our Sovereign Lord the King his heires and SucceSser for Every fifty Acres of Land herein by theSe preSents given and Granted Yearely at the Feast of St Michaell the Archangell the foe rent of one Shilling to his Majesties Use which payment is to be made seven yeares after the Date hereof and not before &c.
