This Indenture made the 9.th of October in the year of o.r Lord God 1681 and 
in 33.d year of the reigne of o.r Sovreigne L.d King Charles the second of 
Great Brittain France & Ireland defender of y.e faith, 
Between George PEIRCE of the Isle of Wight County of the one P/te & Phillip 
REYFORD of the aforesd Isle of Wight County of the other P/te 
witnesseth that the s'd George PEIRCE for & in consideraçon of a good & 
valluable consideraçon, to him already made & in hand p.d by y.e sd Phillip 
REYFORD, before thensealing [sic] & delivry of these p/nts, wherein he 
acknowledgeth himselfe, fully contented sattisfied & P.d have granted demised 
& sould & by these p/nts doe fully clearly & absolutely grant demise bargane 
sell, alienate & confirme & make over unto y.e sd Phillip RAYFORD, he his 
heires Ex.rs Adm.rs & As's. for ever Two hundred Acres of Land more or less 
lying & being in y.e afores'd Isle of Wight County, being P/te of A Pattent 
2500 Acres of Land granted unto the sd George PEIRCE, bearing date 23.d of 
Aprill 1681 the sd Two hundred Acres of Land being bounded as followeth 
begining att A Gum in y.e Foot of y.e Hogg Path Branch, 
Runing as the Swamp Runns, down to Co.ll BRIDGERs Lyne, to a Corner tree a Red 
Oak, 
then SSWest Three hundred & Twenty Poles to a Red Oak, 
then along the Line to the Hogg path Branch 
Which y.e sd George PEIRCE doth for himselfe his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or As's, 
& to & every of them, that he

The s'd Phillip RAYFORD, he his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs or As's shall from the day 
of the date for ever hereafter have hold occupy possess & quietly enjoy, the 
s'd 200 Acres of Land, before demised with all rights p/fitts comodities & 
hereditam.ts w.t soever, thereunto belonging or in any wise app/teining 
w.th out any lett hindrance molestaçon, or contradicçon, of the s'd George 
PEIRCE, or his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or As's, or by any other P/son or P/sons 
w.t soever, by his knowledge consent or procuration w.th out any manner of 
condiçon, or limitaçon of use or uses, rent or rents (the Kings onely 
excepted) and for the better & more authentick confirmaçon of y.e afores'd 
demised p'mises, the afores'd George PEIRCE doth hereby oblidge himselfe, 
to acknowledge the Deed of Sale, in Open Co.rt & that Anne his Wife shall 
doe the same (w.n thereunto required) to be their free & voluntary Act & Deed 
In witness whereof wee y.e s'd George PEIRCE, & Anne his Wife have sett their 
hands & seales, the day & year first above written,
