& John FULGEHAM of the Conveyance made to him by m.r James SEWARD are in these words followeing:/ Know all men by these p'sents that wee William & Susannah BRESSIE doe Sell assigne & make over, from us & o.r heires for ever, all o.r right clayme & interest, of the Land w.th in specified being in two pattents as followeth, One Pattent of fower ["hundred" inserted then struck through] Acres to m.r Anthony FULGEHAM and his heires for ever, the other pattent, of Twelve hundred Acres, to Mathew TOMLYN and John FULGEHAM and their heires for ever, Reserveing to o.r selves liberty of Timber, for o.r Between James SEWARD of the Citty of Bristoll in England merchant Sonne of John SEWARD late of the said Citty m'chant deceased (who dyed in Virginia) of the one part And William BRESSIE m'chant now resident in y.e said Citty of Bristoll, of the other part Witnesseth, that the said James SEWARD for & in Consideraçon of the sume of Tenne pounds of lawfull money of England to him in hand p.d by y.e & Assignes for ever, All the Lands & Woods of him the s'd James SEWARD w.ch were given devised and bequeathed unto him by his S'd late Father, John SEWARD dec'ed in & by his last Will and Testam.t w.ch s'd Land was comonly called & knowne by the name of Blackwater, and are scituate lying & being in the Isle of Wight County in Virginia and alsoe all other y.e Lands woods & Plantaçons of him the s'd James SEWARD scituate elsewhere in Virginia, which were given or devised to him by his said Father, dec'ed And alsoe all houses & buildings thereon And all waies waters Watercourses, pastures feedings Woods underwoods, proffitts Comodities, advantages & apperten'ces whatsoever, to the s'd Lands belonging or in any wise apperteyning or accepted reputed taken or knowne as part parcell or member thereof Togeather w.th the rev'sion & rev'sions, remainder & remainders, thereof and of every part & parcell thereof And all rents Issues proffitts thereof and of ev'y part thereof, and alsoe all the Estate, right, Tytle, Interest, freehould inhereitance challenge clayme, & demand, whatsoever, of him the s'd James SEWARD his heires & Assignes of in & to the same and ev'y or any part or parcell thereof, And alsoe all pattents, Deeds evidences & writeings touching & concerneing the premises w.ch the s'd James SEWARD hath in his Custody, & possession of any other person or persons to his use or by his deliv'y To have & to hould the s'd Lands Woods & p'mises hereby bargained & sould and ev'y part & parcell thereof w.th y.e apperten'ces to him the s'd W.m BRESSIE his heirs & Assignes for ever, To & for y.e onely proper use & behoofe of him the s'd W.m BRESSIE, his heires & Assignes for evermore To be had & houlden of the cheif Lord or Lords of y.e Fee or Fees of the p'mises by y.e rents & services thereof anciently due & of Right accustomed And the said James SEWARD for himselfe his heires Ex.rs & Adm.rs & every of them doth Coven.t promise & grant to & w.th the s'd W.m BRESSIE his heires & Assignes by these p'sents That he the s'd W.m BRESSIE his heires & Assignes or any of them shall or lawfully may from tyme to tyme & all times for ever hereafter, James SEWARD his heires or Assignes or any of them, or of or by, any other person or persons whatsoever, lawfully claymeing or to clayme for from or under him them or any of them or by or under, his s'd Father dec'ed or by their or either or any of their actt or Acts Estate Tytle meanes or procurem.t And that freed & discharged or otherwise well & sufficiently saved and kept harmless by him the s'd James SEWARD his heires Executo.rs & Adm.rs or by some or one of them of and from all former & other Guifts, grants, bargaines Sales, Leases, Mortgages, Tytles, troubles, charges & incumbrances whatsoever had made comitted done suffered or consented unto by him the s'd James SEWARD his heires or assignes or any of them or by any other person or P/sons claymeing or to clayme ["by" struck constituted his loveing Friends Thomas MILNER, Edmond WICKENS, Rob.t FLAKE, & John CARROLL, of Virginia Planters his true & lawfull Attorneys Joyntly & either of them by himselfe sev'ally for him & in his name & stead to enter into & take possession & seizen of the s'd Lands before granted or of some part thereof in the name of the whole and after such possion [sic] thereof soe had and taken then
