1650 acres To all to whome these p.r sents shall come I Cap.t John WEST Esq.r Govern.r and Cap.t Gener.ll of Virginia send greeting in o.r Lord God Everlasting Whereas by Letters bearing date the twoe and twentieth day of July one Thousand Six hundred and thirtie fower from the R.t Hono.ble the Lords of his Maj.ties most Hono.ble Prince Counsell their Lordshipps did authorize the Govern.r and Councell of Virginia to dispose of such pporçons of land to all planters being Freemen as they had power to doe before the yeare 1625 where according to diverse orders and Constitutions in that case p'vided and appointed all devidents of lands any waies due or belonging to any Adventurers or planters of what condiçon Soever were to bee laid out and assigned Unto them according to the Severall condiçons in the same mençoned Now Know yee that I the Said Cap.t John WEST Esq.r doe w.th the consent of the Councell of State give and grannt Unto John UPTON Sixteene hundred and fiftie acres of land Scituate lying and being w.th in the County of Warrasquioake about three miles Up the Pagan point Creeke bounding almost West from the Creeke into the woods a little Creeke runing in by the said land out of the Pagan point Creeke to a great poplar tree ["being" inserted] there marked [margin note] Exm.d The Said Sixteene hundred and fiftie acres of land accrewing due Unto him the said John UPTON by and for the transportaçon of thirtie and three psons at his owne pper costs and charges into this Colony whose names are in the Records mençoned Under his Pattent To have and to hold the said Sixteene hundred & fiftie acres of land w.th his due share of all mines and Mineralls therein conteyned and w.th all rights and priviledges of hunting hawking Fishing & Fowling alsoe all woods waters
