This Indenture made this Twenty Sixth day of August in the Year of our Lord 
One thousand seven Hundred and Ninety Six 
Between Thomas UZZELL Senior of the County of Isle of Wight of the one part 
and Thomas UZZELL Junior (son of the said Thomas UZZELL Senior) of the other 
part 
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Natural love & Affection which 
he the said Thomas UZZELL Senior hath and beareth unto the said Thomas UZZELL 
Junior 
he the said Thomas UZZELL Senior (after reserving his Natural life and the 
Natural life of his Wife Mary UZZELL on the plantation) hath given granted and 
Confirmed and by these presents, doth give grant and Confirm unto the said 
Thomas UZZELL Junior his Heirs & Assigns forever One certain tract of Land 
being the Plantation he now liveth On, whereof he the said Thomas UZZELL 
Senior is now Possessed. Containing by Estimation One Hundred and Eighty five 
Acres with its Appurtenances And Bounded as follows Viz. 
Begining at the Mouth of a Branch in the Cypress Swamp adjoining ATKINSONs 
Land, 
from thence up the said branch to a Spanish Oak on the side of the branch 
from thence about a South east Route to a white Oak in the spring branch 
from thence up the said branch to a small black gum a corner tree between 
ATKINSON and WILLS 
from thence across the main road[?] to a white Oak a corner tree 
from thence along a line of Marked trees adjoining WILLS's and LIGHTFOOT's to 
the Miery Branch

from thence up the various Courses of the said Branch to a pine adjoining 
BUELLs[?] 
from thence along a line of marked trees to the Head of the ready branch 
adjoining HEATHs 
from thence down the said branch to the Cypress swamp 
from thence up the various Courses of the main run of the said cypress swamp 
to the first Station, 
To have & to hold the land above described unto him the said Thomas UZZELL 
Junior to the only use and behoof of him the said Thomas UZZELL Junior his 
Heirs and Assigns forever 
And he the said Thomas UZZELL Senior for himself and his Heirs the land above 
mentioned unto him the said Thomas UZZELL Junior and his Heirs against himself 
and his Heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents 
In Witness whereof he the said Thomas UZZELL Senior hath hereunto set his hand 
and affixed his seal the day and year above Written ~

This Deed of Gift was acknowledged by Thomas UZZELL Senior and Mary his wife 
parties She having been first Privily examined as the Law directs freely and 
Voluntarily relinquished her right of Dower in the said Land and Ordered to be 
Recorded
