This Indenture made the 5.th of December in the Year of Our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred Eighty Five and in the first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord James the 2.d of Great Brittain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith Between William OLDIS of the County of Nansemond of the One Part and William WEST of the Lower Parish of the Isle of Wight County of the other Part. Witness.th that the said William OLDIS for and in [page break] [p.] 585. Consideration of a good and valuable consideration to them already made and in Hand paid by the said William WEST before the ensealing & delivery of these P/sents wherewith He acknowledgeth himself fully satisfied Contented and paid Hath Granted, Demised, Bargained & Sold and by these P/sents do fully clearly & absolutely Grant, Demise Bargain & Sell unto the said William WEST his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and Assigns for Ever Seven Hundred Acres of Land lying & being in the afores.d County of Isle of Wight being part of a Patent of Two Thousand & Fifty Acres of Land granted unto the said William OLDIS bearing Date the 21.st of September 1674 [William OLDIS & Robert RUFFIN, PB6:536] The said Seven Hundred Acres of Land being bounded as followeth Beginning at a Pine in Col.o PITT's ["Pitts"] Line of Marked Trees and so running along Col.o PITT's ["Pitts"] Line to a white Oak a corner Tree of Col.o PITT's ["Pitts"] thence NNE Twenty Pole to WESTRAY's ["Westrays"] Land then NW and by West 306 Pole to a marked Oak in John SMITH's ["Smiths"] Line and so to the first Station as in the Patent expressed And the said W.m OLDIS doth for himself his Heirs Ex.rs Administrators or Assigns Convenant and Agree to and with the said William WEST his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assigns and to and with every of them that the said William WEST his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and Assigns shall from the Day of the Date hereof for ever hereafter Have Hold Occupy Possess and Enjoy the said Land before Demised with all Rights Proffitts Commodities and Hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining without the Lett Hinderance Molestation Incumberance Trouble or Contradiction of him the said William OLDIS his Heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns or by any other Person or Persons whatsoever by their Knowledge Consent or Procuration without any manner of Condition or Limitation of Use or Uses Rent or Rents (the Kings only Excepted) and for the better and more Authentick Confirmation of the before demised P/mises the said William OLDIS doth hereby Oblidge himself to acknowledge this Deed of Sale in Open Court when thereunto required to be his free and Voluntary Act and that his Wife shall do the same In Witness whereof the said William OLDIS & Jane my Wife have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
