VA Will Book 8, pg 401-403 FHLC #32025 This Indenture Made the Eighteenth Day of March in the year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six Between Joseph Wrenn Sally his wife of the County of Isle of Wight of the one part and Jacob Jones of the aforesaid County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph Wrenn for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Jones the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge hath Granted Bargained and Sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said Jacob Jones his Heirs and assigns for ever all that Tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Isle of Wight containing by estimation One Hundred Acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth Beginning at the head of small branch Joining Thomas Wrenns line so running South to a pine a Corner tree then a West course to the Head of a Slash then down the same Slash to a Swamp a line between Thomas Cofer's Land and the said Wrenn's Land then up the said Swamp to Thomas Wards line then up the said Swamp to the first Station and also all Woods and under Woods Pastures Commodities advantages Hereditaments ways Waters and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Messuage above Mentioned belonging or in any wise Appurtaining and also all the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services of the said premises or any part thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Joseph Wrenn Sally his wife of in and to the said Messuage Tenement and premises and every part thereof To have and to hold the said Messuage and Tenement and all and Singular the said premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurtenances unto the said Jacob Jones his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Jacob Jones his Heirs and assigns for ever and the said Joseph Wrenn and Sally his wife for themselves their Heirs the said Messuage and Tenement and premises and every part thereof against them and their Heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said Jacob Jones his Heirs and assigns Shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof they have Set my hand and Affixed my Seal the Day and year above Written ­- Signed Sealed and Delivered Josiah Wrenn (LS) In presence of . . . . . . her Sally + Wrenn (LS) Mark Memorandum that Quiet and Peaceable Possession and Seizen of the Lands and Hereditaments within mentioned to be granted, was had and taken by the within named Jacob Jones According to the form and effect of the within Written Indenture In presence of } Josiah Wrenn (LS) At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 4th Day of April 1776 This Indenture was Acknowledged by Joseph Wrenn and Sally his wife parties thereto she having been first prively Examined as the Law directs freely and Voluntarily Relinquished her right of Dower to the Lands conveyed by the said Indenture and Ordered to be Recorded Teste Nathl Burwell ClCurr ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright.
