VA Mixed Records, etc. Bk. 8, pgs 466-467 FHLC #32025 This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of April one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven Between John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover of Isle of Wight County of the one part and Josiah Wrenn of the same County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover for themselves and their Heirs &c for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and seventeen pounds Current Money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Josiah Wrenn the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge Have Given Granted Bargained and Sold Aliened and Confirmed and be these presents for themselves their Heirs and Assigns Do Give Grant Bargain and Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Josiah Wrenn and to his Heirs and Assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of Land lying in Isle of Wight County Beginning at a Poplar upon William Blunt and John Crocker and along the said line to the main Road and along the said Road upon the said Crocker's line to a black Gum and so along the said line to a black Gum upon William Chapman a corner Tree to a Branch and down the Branch or Run to a sweet Gum upon John Thomas and so along the Thomas's line to a white Oak a corner Tree upon a Branch and so down the said Branch to a Cyprus a corner Tree to a Branch called the Holly Branch and up said Branch to the Poquoson to a pine thence along the said Poquoson to a pine upon Sarah Wesler a Corner Tree and so along the said line to a pine a Corner Tree upon Robert Tynes and so along the said Tynes's line to a white Oak a Corner Tree and so along a line of marked Trees to a pine a Corner Tree thence along a line of marked Trees upon the said Tynes to a black Gum upon William Blunt in the fork of a branch and down the said Branch to a Branch called the Bridge Branch and so up the said Branch to the first Station containing by estimation one hundred and fifty Acres be it more or less To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land and premises with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of the said Josiah Wrenn his Heirs and Assigns forever And the said John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover do here agree to and with the said Josiah Wrenn that it shall and may be lawful for the said Josiah Wrenn his Heirs and Assigns peaceably to have and to hold occupy possess and enjoy to their only proper use the Land and Premises aforesaid without any interruption claim or demand of them the said John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover their Heirs and Assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and the said John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover for themselves their Heirs the said tract or parcel of Land and premises to the said Josiah Wrenn his Heirs and Assigns shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents against the claim and demand of all persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the said John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover hath hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above written John Thomas (LS) Signed Sealed and Mary Thomas (LS) delivered in the presence of Benjamin Glover (LS) William Blunt Joseph Womble jr Wm Davis his Philip X Tommas mark Memorandum That on the day and year within mentioned full and peaceable possession by Livery and Seisin of the within mentioned land and premises to him made and delivered by the within named John Thomas and Mary his Wife and Benjamin Glover unto the within mentioned Josiah Wrenn his Heirs and and Assigns forever according to for and effect of the within mentioned Deed In the presence of John Thomas (LS) William Blunt Mary Thomas (LS) Joseph Womble jr Benjamin Glover (LS) Wm Davis his Philip X Tommas mark At a Court held for Isle of Wight County Augst 7th 1777.
