VA Deed Book 13, pgs 435-437 FHLC #32007 This Indenture made third day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand and seven hundred and seventy seven and in the first year of the Common Wealth Between Richard Wrenn of the County of Isle of Wight planter of the one part and Richard Jones of the same County of the other part Witness that for and in consideration of thirty eight pounds two shillings and six pence Currant Money of Virginia to the said Richard Wrenn in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery hereof the Receipt whereof the said Richard Wrenn doth hereby acknowledge and the said Richard Wrenn hath Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the said Richard Jones his Heirs and Assigns for ever one certain tract or parcel of Land Situate lying in the County of Isle of Wight and containing by estimation seventy Acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at a marked pine in Henry Mangum's line thence along the said line to a marked Gum in the head of Nokeses? branch thence down the various Courses thereof to Benja Jones's Corner Tree thence along Benja Jones's line to the first Station also all Woods Underwoods Waters and Water courses thereon standing or Growing or being with their and every of their appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and also all the right title property claim and demand of him the said Richard Wrenn of in or to the Land & premises unto the said Richard Jones his Heirs Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Richard Jones his Heirs and Assigns for ever and the Reversion and Reversions Rents issues and Services to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the said Richard Wrenn for himself his Heirs Extors and Admors Shall and will Warrant the said Granted Land and premises with the appertenances unto the said Richard Jones his Heirs and Assigns for ever against all other person or persons whatsoever claiming by from or under him In Witness whereof the said Richard Wrenn hath herein to set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered Richard Wrenn (LS) in presence of . . . . . . . } Thos Shelley his Jacob + Jones mark Matthias Webb Received the third day of July 1777 of Richard Jones the just and full Sum of thirty eight pounds five shillings and six pence it being the within consideration Money, Received by me Richard Wrenn.
