VA Deeds, etc. Bk. 15, pgs 95-97 FHLC #32008 This Indenture made the twenty eighth Day of April in the Your of our lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and eighty Three Between Britain Ward and July his Wife of the County of Isle of Wight of the one part and Thomas Wrenn of the Same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Britain Ward for and Inconsideration of the sum of thirty three pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Wrenn the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge themselves to be therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid He the said Britain Ward and July his wife hath granted Bargained and Sold aliened and Confirmed & By these presents do grant bargain & Sell alien and Confirm unto the said Thomas Wrenn his heirs and assigns forever all that Parcel or quantity of Land lying and being In the County of Isle of Wight betwixt the first and Second Swamps of black Water Containing by estimation fifty acres more of less and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a turkey Oak which is a Corner tree betwixt Matthew Webb & John Mintz and from there down to a pine In a head of a branch from thence down the branch South east course 120 Poles to a Oak which is a new line made by the Consent of the said Ward and from thence along through the Old field down a south Course to a black Gum near the run of the branch, and from thence ????? up the Branch a West Course about 80 poles Turns up a slash and from thence to a pond a east course & from the pond Runs by a line of trees to the first station Oak, and also all trees woods underwoods Pastures Profits Commodities Advantages Emoluments Hereditaments Whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of Land and Premises Above mentioned Belonging or any ways belonging thereto & also the reversion and reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents & Services of every part thereof and also all estate Right Title Interest Claims & Demands Whatsoever of him the said Premises Abovementioned and every Part and Parcel thereof with the Appertenances unto the said Thomas Wrenn his heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Thomas Wrenn his heirs & Assigns forever And the Said Britain Ward for himself and his heirs the abovementioned Premises and every part thereof against him and his Heirs and against all and every other person & persons whatsoever to the said Britain Ward his heirs and Assigns Shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Britain Ward & July his Wife Hath hereunto set their hands & Affixed their Seals the day and year above Written ------------- Signed Sealed & Delivered Britain Ward (Seal) In the presents her Josiah Wrenn July X Ward (Seal) his his mark Richard X Jones, Pa?som X Jones mark mark Memorandum, that on twenty eighth Day of April one thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Three Quiet & peaceable possession & Seizen of the Within Land was Given and Delivered by the within named Britain Ward & July His Wife unto the within named Thomas Wrenn According to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed Given under my Hand --------------- Josiah Wrenn Britain Ward (Seal) his her Richard X Jones July X Ward (Seal) mark mark At a Court Held for Isle of Wight County the 1st Day of May 1783 ------ This Indenture with the memorandum thereon Endorsed was Acknowledged by Britain Ward and July his wife partys thereto, She having been first Prively Examined as the law Directs freely & Voluntarily Relinquished her right of dower to the land Conveyed by the Said Indenture & Ordered to be Recorded ----------- Teste Francis Young DclCou ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
