C. E. Gerringer Is Much Improved Rev. C.E. Gerringer, pastor of the Wakefield Christian Church is very much improved in health after being confined to his bed for several weeks at his home and the Suffolk hospital. His physicians report his convalescence as being as fast as could be expected. GERRINGER WINS SCHOLARSHIP AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY A scholarship at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn., has been awarded to C.E. Gerringer to attend a course there from January 2 to Feb. 12 with all expenses paid. Rev. Gerringer attended a similar course there last spring. The Christian Churches have granted the pastor a leave of absence to attend this course. ****************************************************************************** "Tri-County News (Wakefield, VA), Vol. 7, No. 19, Fri., Feb. 22, 1935, p. 1 Welcome Service For Rev. C. E. Gerringer Windsor, Va., Feb. 19 - A very impressive welcome service was held at Antioch Church near Windsor Friday evening Feb. 15, at 3 p.m., when C.E. Gerringer was welcomed as pastor to the church and he and family were welcomed into the community. Dr. I.W. Johnson, of Suffolk, presided and gave a most excellent address on the "Meaning of Antioch." Rev. G.A. Pearce gave a vocal solo, the local quartette rendered special music. Mrs. Sarah Whitley gave a vocal solo, and the choir sang choruses. Rev.
