At present, the frame-work around the windows is being concentrated on, since the wood has been found to be completely crumbling that framed the windows, and a miracle that the windows have not given away before this. Traditionally built in 1632 by Sir Joseph Bridger, this church is the only English Gothic Church still standing in the United States and the oldest encased within it's original walls. Services were held here regularly until the Revolutionary War and have been held intermittently since. It now has no regular communicants and is maintained by voluntary contributions. *Additional information: Antioch cemetery list, an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/isleofwight/cemeteries/antioch.txt Isle of Wight County Historical Society {IWCHS} Grave Site Survey Task Force {GSSTF} report #17: http://www.iwchs.com/Cemetery-Reports.html Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by File Manager Matt Harris (zoobug64@aol.com). file at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/isleofwight/news/19550609nh.txt
