Woman Charged With Murder 

  A 29-year-old Isle of Wight County woman has been charged with murder in 
connection with the shotgun death of her husband Thursday night of last week. 

  Myrtle C. Turner. 28, of Rt. 1, Franklin, was arrested by county police soon 
after 34-year-old Willie Lee Turner died of a shotgun blast from close range. 

  Mrs. Turner has waived preliminary hearing.  She was released on bond. 

  Mrs. Turner told Taylor Thursday night she had killed her husband, Willie 
Lee Turner with a shotgun charge early in the evening after he had abused her 
and threatened to kill her. 

  Mrs. Turner is the mother of nine children ranging from 5 months to 14 years.
