He was the son of the late David and Sarah Elizabeth Atkins and is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.R. Murphy and several nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong member of Bethel M.E. Church. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Central Hill M.E.* Church by the Rev. W.W. Norris. Pallbearers were Dr. Rea Parker, C.S. Betts, J. Ray Barlow, I.M. Scott, Nathan O’Berry, Willie Murphy and Teat Chapman.
