ALFRED WALKER ATKINS

   Alfred Walker Atkins, 69, a prominent Isle of Wight resident died May 5th at 
10 A.M.  He was the son of the late David and Sarah Elizabeth Atkins and is 
survived by one sister, Mrs. W.R. Murphy and several nieces and nephews. He was 
a lifelong member of Bethel M.E. Church.

   Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Central 
Hill M.E.* Church by the Rev. W.W. Norris. Pallbearers were Dr. Rea Parker, C.S. 
Betts, J. Ray Barlow, I.M. Scott, Nathan O’Berry, Willie Murphy and Teat Chapman.
