WILLIAM THOMAS ADDISON 

WM. T. ADDISON, 82, BURIED DEC. 23RD IN UZZELLS CEM’TERY 

  William Thomas Addison, 82, of Smithfield, died in a Suffolk hospital 
December 23rd at 2 a.m. after a brief illness.

  Addison was a native of Surry County but had lived in Smithfield for 
the last 13 years.

  Besides his wife, Mrs. Mattie Pierce Addison, he is survived by a son, 
J.W. Addison of Smithfield, two daughters, Mrs. C.D. Lankford of Wakefield, 
and Mrs. C.S. Crocker of Isle of Wight County; 12 grandchildren, four great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Smithfield.

  The body was taken to the Bullock Funeral Home, where services were held 
December 23rd at 3 p.m. by the Rev. R.E. Cardwell, pastor Trinity Methodist 
Church, assisted by the Rev. O.L. Gilliam.  Burial was in Uzzell’s Church 
Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Jesse Edwards, Clyde Crocker, Clarence Lankford, David 
Lankford, William Addison and Sam Crocker.
