ATKINSON, 60, BURIED DEC. 25TH AT MILL SWAMP Funeral services for William Francis Atkinson, 60, who died at his home Wednesday, December 24th, were conducted at the Jones Funeral Home, by the Rev. Mr. Holzbach. Burial followed in the Mill Swamp Cemetery. Pallbearers were E.F. Little, Willie Moody, Bennett Little, Ruffin Gray, Bruce Holloman and Denver Oakley. Mr. Atkinson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Asia Stringfield of Hampton and Mrs. Ruby Hall of King and Queen Court House, and a brother, James A. Atkinson of Newport News. His father was James Archer ATKINSON (1849, IoW.Co. - 2 Oct 1926, IoW.Co.), son of Francis "Frank" & Nancy (JOHNSON) ATKINSON (m. 1842, IoW.Co.). [D.Cert. 24095 (Hardy #10)]. His mother was Fannie Day BEALE [BEAL] (23 Sep 1863, So.Co. - 31 Mar 1955, Warwick), daughter of William & Sarah Va. (BRANCH) BEALE (m. 1844, So.Co.). [D.Cert. 6170 (Warwick City #51)]. She m. James 2 Feb 1882, in IoW.Co.
