Mrs. Alphin, a native of Sunbury, N.C., was the widow of Leonard Harold Alphin Sr. She was a member of Windsor Christian Church, and Martha S. Persons Bible Class, and Circle 1. Survivors include three daughters, Edith A. Anderson of Suffolk, Alene A. Cox of Smithfield, and Antionette "Tony" Willis of Windsor; five sons, L.H. Alphin Jr., John B. Alphin, and Robert O. Alphin, all of Zuni, William M. Alphin of Boston, and G. Thomas Alphin Sr. of Windsor; a sister, Antoinette Gregory of Sunbury; 25 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Friday in Windsor Christian Church by the Revs. Eddie Walker and Ruffin A. Alphin. Burial was in Windsor Cemetery.
