GRANVILLE ALMOND 

  Granville Almond, Isle of Wight citizen, was buried at Uzzell's Ch. 
Wednesday afternoon.  The deceased, who is survived by his wife, was 
past fifty years of age. 


Grandville Curtis ALLMOND [ALLMAN*], retired farmer, 
b. Aug 1871, Isle of Wight Co., d. 30 Jun 1931, Williamsburg, 
interred in Uzzell's Methodist Church Cemetery*, 1 Jul 1931, 
"Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 12, No. 13, Thurs., July 2, 1931, p. 1 

*Apparently unmarked; he does on appear in: 
   Isle of Wight County Historical Society {IWCHS}

Find a Grave Memorial #166491623 gives burial details unknown. 

D.Cert. 14801 (Williamsburg #56) gives removed to Smithfield 1 Jul 1931, 
   by undertaker J.L. Jones. 

Birthdate from 1900 Census - Newport Dist., Isle of Wight Co. 

Grandville often appears as Granville; his surname appears variously as 
   ALMOND, ALLMOND, ALLMAN, &c. 

His parents, Robert Freeman & Mary Holland (SAUNDERS PRUDEN) ALLMAN, 
   are buried in the ALLMAN family cemetery on Bowling Green Rd. 
   {IWCHS GSSTF report #92} 

His widow Pattie Maude (PRESSON) ALLMOND (1886 -1959) 2m. widower Henry 
   Quinton PILAND (1868 - 1942).  Quinton is also buried in Uzzell's 
   Methodist Church Cemetery, with his first wife.

Pattie is buried with her parents in in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery,

She shares a family monument with her parents, with no mention of her married
