Arrington Buried in Beaver Dam Funeral services for William Edward Arrington, who died Friday, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr., pastor of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and the Rev. G.C. Crutchfield, pastor of the Antioch Christian Church. Burial was in the Beaver Dam Christian [sic; Baptist] Church Cemetery. Miss Carmenetta Peele, accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner, Jr., sang "In The Garden" and "Sunrise." The pall was of red roses, white carnations and baby's breath. Pallbearers were Johnny Dewell, Jimmy Brinkley, Everett Munford, Edward Luter, James Bristow, R. Wesley Harrell, D.B. Sweat, and Frank Brinkley. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** W. E. Arrington, 53, Buried June 2 In Southampton [sic; Isle of Wight] Co. William Edward Arrington, 53, of Whaleyville, died unexpectedly May 31, 1957, at 7:30 a.m. while at work at the Joel E. Harrell Packing Co., Suffolk. He was a son of Mrs. Julia Edwards Arrington of Isle of Wight County and the late William W. Arrington of Chowan County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Estelle Hand Arrington; seven daughters, Mrs. Mildred Cobb of Zuni, Mrs. Dana Burkett and Mrs. Mary Virginia Hobbs, both of Suffolk; Misses Willie May, Rose Marie, Sarah Elizabeth and Lois A. Arrington, all of Whaleyville; four sons, William C. Arrington of Windsor, George F. Arrington and J. Hurley Arrington, both of Suffolk, and Archie Lee Arrington of Whaleyville; two brothers, J. Clinton Arrington of Windsor and Charlie J. Arrington of Carrsville, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr., pastor of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and Dr. R.E. Brittle, of Bethlehem Christian Church.
