MRS. NANCY BABB 

  Mrs. Nancy Babb, aged 78 years, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. J.M. Oliver, at Long View.  Surviving her are two daughters, 
Mrs. M.E. Pruden, of Nansemond county, and Mrs. J.M. Oliver, of Long View; one 
son, J.R. Babb, of Suffolk; one brother, J.H. Cones, of Suffolk; also several 
grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

  The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the 
residence of her son, J.R. Babb, 332 E. Pinner street, conducted by Dr. H.S. 
Hardcastle and Dr. W.W. Staley.  Interment will be in Cedar Hill [sic*] 
cemetery.

D.Cert. 23670 (Newport #1) gives b. 23 Mar 1852, daughter of Jimmie & Nancy 
   (TURNER) CONES. 

Her m.rec. gives daughter of Thomas  & Nancy CONES. 

Her parents seem to have been James "Jimmie" & Nancy (SPIVEY) CONES, 
   who m. 1838 or '39 in Isle of Wight Co.
