Gent Cofer and the Rev. R.L. Consalva. Burial was in Mill Swamp Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were William C. Ramsay, Gwaltney W. White Jr., Charles S. Betts, Charles C. Howell, Joel H. Chapman and Sidney B. Cofer. Betts, 75, died Sunday morning in a Richmond hospital. A farmer and lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of James W. and Mrs. Cora Cofer Betts and the husband of Mrs. Lottie James Betts. He was a deacon and former treasurer of Mill Swamp Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.P. Lewis Jr. and Mrs. Alfred T. Dudley, both of Richmond; four sisters, Miss Elinor Betts of Culpeper, Mrs. Henry O. Gwaltney of Richmond, Mrs. O.L. Holt of Wakefield and Mrs. A.T. Hill of Smithfield; and four grandchildren.
