BUTLER’S WIDOW IS BURIED Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Sue Butler, 72, widow of Alger H. Butler, were conducted yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Edwin Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Butler died Monday night at a hospital in Norfolk after a long illness. She was the daughter of Charles Henry and Lucy Parker Holland, of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. S.L. Merrette, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Horace Williams, of Holland; three sons, C.F. Butler, of Portsmouth; E.L. Butler, and Alger H. Butler, Jr., both of Franklin; a half-sister, Mrs. Jesse Duke, of Suffolk, and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were H.C. Butler, F.D. Edwards, Foye Marshall, E.L. Cutchins, Jr., J.L. Cutchins, and W.R. Fowler. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.
