BUTLER, 79, NATIVE, I-W COUNTY BURIED AUGUST 10 Mrs. Ida Lexington Butler, 79, died Sunday night, August 8th, at her home, 544 Thirty-fifth Street, following a long illness. She was born in Isle of Wight County and had lived in Newport News 47 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Frank C. Butler, of Norfolk; and James D. Butler, of Newport News; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Weiss of Newport News; one sister, Mrs. Carrie D. Cowling, of Norfolk; ten grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fries, pastor of Seventh Day Adventists, officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ida Lexington (LYNES; Mrs. Joseph J.)
