Morrison Butler, 60, died Sunday in his home. A lifelong resident of Zuni, [sic*] he was a son of Lloyd H. and Mrs. Theodosia Bowden Butler and the husband of the late Mrs. Lillie Myers Ward Butler. He was the general foreman of riggers for Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp. He was an elder and teacher of Bethany Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Zuni Ruritan Club, and past master of Blackwater Masonic Lodge 34 of Zuni. He is survived by two sons, Morrison Kerry Butler of Franklin and Sherald Ward Butler of Palmyra; a sister, Mrs. Alice Bradshaw of Windsor; two brothers, S. Claiborne Butler of Franklin and Walter Hudson Butler of Windsor; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial, with Masonic rites, will be held in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Zuni Presbyterian School.
