MAGGIE ODELL BALLARD LOWE BUTLER 

   Funeral services for Maggie Odell Butler, 76, who died Aug. 9 in Obici 
Hospital in Suffolk, were held Sunday at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield. 
Burial was made at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, where she was a member.

   Mrs. Butler, a native of Isle of Wight County, was the daughter of the late 
Elisha W. Ballard and Donna Watkins, and the wife of Lewell C. Butler.

   She is survived by two sons, both of Walters, Stanley and William Lowe, 
four daughters, Mrs. Herman Cobb of Sedley, Mrs. Haywood Lowe of Ivor, Mrs. 
Dorothy Turner of Suffolk, and Mrs. John Duck of Carrsville, one sister, Mrs. 
Julian Carr of Walters, one brother, the Reverend Floyd D. Ballard of 
Jonesboro, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

   Pallbearers for the funeral were A.L. Duck, Jasper Carr, J.L. Rose Sr., 
S.H. Johnson, Lonnie Carr, Taylor Holland, Loster Rhodes and Franklin Cutchins.
