THELMA LOUISE ENGLISH BUTLER

   CARRSVILLE - Thelma Louise English Butler, 51, wife of Herman Carlton 
Butler, died early Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, in Franklin.

   A lifelong resident of Carrsville community, she was a daughter of Mrs. 
Josephine Carr and John Thomas English.

   She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she was secretary 
and treasurer of Garland Moore Circle and a member of Faithful Workers 
Class and Fellowship Committee of Women’s Society of Christian Service.

   Besides her husband, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Noles of 
Franklin and Mrs. Bobby Tyree of Portsmouth; two sons, John Carlton Butler 
and Roger Lee Butler of Carrsville; a brother, Stanley C. English of 
Drewryville; a sister, Mrs. Thomas Williams of Suffolk; and seven 
grandchildren.

   A funeral service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Beaver Dam Church 
by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr.  Burial will be in the church cemetery 
with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers are: Joel Bradshaw, Jack Holland, Charlie Arrington, Jack 
Story, Bernard Lankford, Paul Gerald, Reuben March, John Duck.
