Butler, 65, prominent citizen of Isle of Wight, and for a number of years a traveling salesman died suddenly at the home of his brother Herman Butler, Carrsville. Surviving him are his stepmother, Mrs. Ida W. Butler, of Franklin; seven* brothers, D.R. Butler, Paul Harry Flippo* Butler of Portsmouth, Sam and Herman Butler of Carrsville, three sisters, Mrs. J.R. Keen and Mrs. L.H. Howell of Carrsville and Mrs. E.L. Cutchin of Franklin and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. J.T. Garland Moore. Burial was in the church cemetery. Thomas L. "Tom" BUTLER, traveling salesman, former grocer, b. "Addie" Adelia Eliza (VAUGHAN; wid/o Lafayette) HOLLAND, 25 Dec 1904, in Nansemond Co. In the 1920 Census, Addie is living in Norfolk with her son Ralph F. HOLLAND & his wife, and Tom divorced her 14 Mar 1921. (FamilySearch.org "Virginia Marriages") Addie 3m. divorcé William J. CROCKER, 25 Aug 1926, in Suffolk. They are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
