Butler, 67, died at a hospital Saturday. He was a lifelong resident of this vicinity and had been an active member of Disputanta Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie C. Butler; six sons, E.L. Butler, of Rescue; W.R. Butler, of Eastern Shore; A.J. and H.M. Butler, of Norfolk; Herbert Butler, of Newport News, and J.L. Butler, of Waverly; three daughters, Mrs. A.A. Spady, of Newport News; Mrs. C.J. Marshall of Waverly, and Mrs. R. Delk, of Norfolk; and one brother, Joseph Butler of Philadelphia. Funeral services were held on Monday at Roberts and Johnson Funeral Home at 2 P.M. conducted by Rev. T. Fred Wright, pastor of Isle of Wight Christian Charge. Burial was at Antioch Christian Church. Pallbearers were Raymond Spady, Wesley Spady, Garland Goodrich, Durwood Butler, Leroy Holland and John Tarkington.
