All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ COLUMBUS WASHINGTON BAILEY Columbus Washington Bailey, 75, prominent citizen, merchant and funeral director of Windsor for the past 50 years, died at his home in that town on Monday afternoon, April 3, at 3:20 o’clock. He was a son of the late Charles W. and Indiana Howell Bailey of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of the Windsor Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. D.L. Godwin of Windsor; a brother, Lorenzo Bailey of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Opher Wilkerson and Mrs. J.C. Roberts of Windsor; two granddaughters, Misses Martha Lee Godwin and Frances Godwin, also of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Bailey were conducted at 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home in Suffolk, followed by burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
