Burial will be in Black Creek Baptist Church, Southampton County. ****************************************************************************** WILLIAM ARTHUR BILLUPS Zuni - A funeral service for William Arthur Billups, 53, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Willis Switzer. Burial was in Black Creek Church. Pallbearers were Mac Edwards, Jr., Robert C. Fowler, Arthur Carr Jr., Cadmus Stephenson, D.S. Edwards Jr., L.J. Bittle, Elliott Story, Ivan Brock and Grant Brock. He died Friday morning in Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Isle of Wight county, he was the husband of Mrs. Lizzie Turner Billups. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church, Tucker Swamp Hunt Club and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a Southampton county farmer. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Alice Copeland Billups; two daughters, Christine Billups and Shirley Billups, and a son, Milton Billups, all of Zuni; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Rawls of Chesapeake and Mrs. Frances McDearmott of Cumberland, R.I.; five brothers, Leon A. Billups of Waco, Tex., K. Raymond Billups of Virginia Beach, Frank E. Billups of Belhaven, N.C., Joseph J. Billups and Earl M. Billlups of Zuni.
