David Irving officiating. Burial was in Mill Swamp Baptist Church cemetery. Buhls died Thursday as a result of a self inflicted gunshot wound. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Mills Swamp Baptist Church. He was an electrician at Newport News Shipbuilding Corp. He was a electrician at Newport News Shipbuilding Corp. He was a veteran of the Army and served as the presidential honor guard for President Eisenhower. He is survived by his mother, Irene Thomas Buhls of Wakefield; a daughter, Sharon Renee Buhls of Chesapeake; two sons, Kendal Ray Buhls and Wendal Ray Buhls of Belvedere, N.C.; and a sister Mrs. Robert D. Wallace of Wakefield.
