Johnson, of Holland, this morning after an illness of many months. Mrs. Bland was the daughter of the late Josiah and Sallie Ann Gay Pierce, of Isle of Wight County. She was married twice, her first marriage being to Richard A. Butler, of Windsor, and to this union were born three children, Mrs. Clyde G. Johnson, of Holland, R. Sherman Butler, of Carrsville, and Roland Butler, who preceded his mother in death in 1947. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, of Walters, and the Woman's Missionary Society, of which she was a charter member. Besides her children she is survived by five grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild; two brothers, H.B. and C.G. Pierce of Windsor; and one sister, Mrs. R.A. Jenkins, of Windsor. Funeral services will he held Tuesday [sic; Thursday] afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Antioch Christian Church near Windsor by Rev. H.E. Crutchfield, Rev. H.L. Foster, and Dr. W.B. O'Neil, all of Holland. Mrs. Bland was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church of Walters and the Woman's Missionary Society, of which she was a charter member. Besides her children, she is survived by five grandchildren and one great- grandchild; two brothers, H.B. and C.G. Pierce of Windsor, and one sister, Mrs. R.A. Jenkins of Windsor.
