She was 80 years old. A native of Isle of Wight County, Mrs. Baines had been a member of the Congregational Christian Church of that city. She is survived by a son, Calvin L. Baines, of Newport News; two sisters, Mrs. E.G. Spivey of Hampton, Va., and Mrs. C.T. Garner of Windsor; three brothers, S.F. Vaughan of Gates, N.C., W.R. Vaughan of Portsmouth, and H.A. Vaughan of Windsor, and a granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Peninsula Funeral Home in Newport News, by Rev. Jessie H. Dollar, pastor of the First Congregational Christian Church.
