All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Bracey's Funeral Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Frances Bracey, 69, who died yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora Parr on 230 Chestnut Street, will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Antioch Christian Church at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was the widow of R.S. Bracey and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. She is survived by four sons, Clyde A. Bracey of Windsor, L.R. Bracey of Ivor, L.E. Bracey of Norfolk and Henry Bracey of Ivor; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anna Goodrich of Smithfield and Mrs. Parr; two sisters, Mrs. Addie L. Edwards of Suffolk and Mrs. N.T. Braswell of Windsor; 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body was taken to the Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield where it will remain until 2:30 o'clock tomorrow. At this time it will be taken to the Antioch Church to lie in state until the funeral hour. ****************************************************************************** NETTIE FRANCES PIERCE BRACEY Mrs. Nettie Frances Bracey, 69, widow of R.S. Bracey, died at 1:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora Parr, in Suffolk. She is survived by four sons, Clyde A. Bracey of Windsor, L.R. Bracey and Henry Bracey of Ivor, and L.E. Bracey of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anna Goodrich of Smithfield and Mrs. Ora Parr of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Addie L. Edwards of Suffolk and Mrs. N.T. Braswell of Windsor; and 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, where funeral services were conducted at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Rites Are Held For Mrs. Bracey Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Frances Bracey, of Suffolk, were held at Antioch Christian Church, Tuesday by the Rev. Ellis Clark, pastor of the church. Active pallbearers were G.T. Harrison, Jesse Thorne, J.H. Godwin, T.M. Carr, Sr., W.H. Braswell, S.T. Holland, R.L. Luter, C.R. Clements. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Roger Edwards and Mrs. Jonas Joyner sang "Goodnight Here, Good Morning Up There," accompanied by Mrs. E.R. Nelms. The choir sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Safe In the Arms of Jesus." The pall consisted of white carnations and red roses. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Nettie Bracey Buried Tuesday in Antioch Ch. Cem. Nettie Frances Bracey, 69, widow of R.S. Bracey, died at the home of her daughter in Suffolk on March 12th. She is survived by four sons, Clyde A. Bracey, of Windsor; L.R. Bracey of Ivor; Henry Bracey, of Ivor; and L.E. Bracey of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anna Goodrich of Smithfield; and Mrs. Parr; two sisters, Mrs. Addie L. Edwards of Suffolk; and Mrs. N.T. Braswell of Windsor; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Antioch Christian Church with burial in the church cemetery.
