GEORGE L. BROCKWELL 

GEO. L. BROCKWELL BURIED TUESDAY IN BETHANY CEMETERY 

  George L. Brockwell, 60, son of the late Claude Brockwell and Mary Stevens 
Brockwell and husband of the late Mabel Brockwell, died Sunday, April 12th 
in Charlottesville after a long illness.

  He was a native of Isle of Wight County and a member of Bay View Methodist 
Church.  Surviving are one nephew, Charles L. Cofer, of Rushmere.  Funeral 
services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home.

  Burial was in Bethany Church Cemetery.

His Find a Grave Memorial (#106920750) includes a photo of 
   George & Mabel's marker. 

His father, "Claude" Claudius Baker BROCKWELL, is buried in a 
   BROCKWELL family cemetery on Holly Point Way, 7 miles north 
   of Smithfield on Old Stage Rd.  (IWCHS GSSTF #24; FaG Mem. #135925945) 

Presumably his mother, Mary Virginia (STEVENS) BROCKWELL, is also buried 
   there, unmarked.  Her D.Cert., 1938 #21108 {Hardy, IoW #15} gives 
   buried "Family Burying ground, Rushmere, Va." 

His parents, both natives of Prince George Co., m. 24 Dec 1884, 
   in Isle of Wight Co. (M.Reg. {BVS copy} 1884 p. 213 #47)
