Braswell SMITHFIELD, June 24 - Funeral services for Stephen Joseph Braswell, 85, who died yesterday morning at his home in Isle of Wight County, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Antioch Christian Church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Bullock Funeral Home to the church one hour prior to the services. A retired farmer, Mr. Braswell was a native of the county and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Maynard Holland and Mrs. Henry J. Whitley, both of Windsor, and Mrs. W.E. Williams, of Franklin; two sons, J. Letcher Braswell and Joseph Wesley Braswell, both of Windsor; five step- daughters, Mrs. Ruth Whitman, of Portsmouth; Mrs. Irene Barnes and Mrs. Mildred Evans of Suffolk; Miss Dorothy Brown of New York City, and Mrs. Susan Avis, of Alabama; four step-sons, Frank and Clarence E. Brown, both of Windsor, George Robert Brown, of Portsmouth, and Charles Brown, Jr., of the United States Army, in Guam; a brother, William H. Braswell, of Windsor; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** S. J. Braswell, 65, Buried Tuesday In Antioch Cemetery Stephen Joseph Braswell, 65, died Sunday morning at his home in Isle of Wight County. He was a retired farmer and a native of Isle of Wight.
