Braswell 73, Stricken; Rites Wednesday WINDSOR - William Henry Braswell, 73, suffered a heart attack last night at his home here and was pronounced dead on arrival at Obici Memorial hospital at 10:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Antioch Christian church by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hill funeral home to the church at 2:30 to lie in state until time of funeral. He was a retired peanut buyer, a member of Antioch Christian church and a native of Isle of Wight county. He was the son of the late Jim and Mary Elizabeth Hedgebeth [sic; Hedgepeth] Braswell of Isle of Wight county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Griggs Stanley Braswell; a daughter, Mrs. Redell Turner of Portsmouth; three sons, M.S. Braswell, D.S. Braswell of Windsor, and John H. Braswell of Portsmouth; two step-daughters, Mrs. Dale Whelbarger of Portsmouth and Mrs. Thelma Oliver of Smithfield; three step- sons, Luther L. Stanley and Curtis E. Stanley of Suffolk, and Alton Stanley of Williamsburg; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** W. H. Braswell, 73, Of Windsor, Buried Feb. 7th William Henry Braswell, 73, a retired peanut buyer, died Sunday, February 4, 1962, on the way to the Obici Hospital after a heart attack in his home in Windsor. He was a son of Jim and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hedgepeth Braswell of Isle of Wight County and was a member the Antioch Christian Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Maude Griggs Stanley Braswell; a daughter, Mrs. Redell Turner, of Portsmouth; three sons, M.S. Braswell and D.S. Braswell of Windsor, and John H. Braswell of Portsmouth; three stepsons, Luther L. Stanley and Curtis E. Nease Jr. of Providence Methodist Church, with burial in Antioch Church Cemetery.
