Joseph A. Barrett 

  ZUNI - Joseph Alex Barrett, 81, died Sunday morning in a Newport News 
hospital. 

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mills Thomas and Mrs. 
Anna Carr Barrett. 

  He was a retired farmer and a member of Antioch Christian Church. 

  Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Pearl B. Cobb of Windsor, Mrs. Indiana 
Cobb of Zuni and Mrs. Emma B. Tomlin of Ivor; a brother, M. Thomas Barrett 
Jr. of Smithfield; and two half brothers, Edgar C. Barrett of Hampton and 
Emmett G. Barrett of Zuni. 

  A funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. in Antioch Cemetery near 
Windsor by the Rev. L.J. McCall.  Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, has 
charge.
