All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY WHITE BRETT Mrs. Mary White Brett, 72, a resident of the Carrsville community for the past 45 years, died at her home on Sunday, May 19, at 7:45 p.m. after an illness of several weeks. A native of Southampton County, Mrs. Brett was the daughter of Henry Davis White and Rosa Barrett White and the widow of Robert D. Brett of Carrsville. She was a member of Barnes Methodist Church, near Newsoms. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Samuel H. Wilson of Norfolk and Mrs. John W. Keifer and Miss Mary White Brett of Carrsville; three sons, Edgar H. Brett of Rochester, N.Y., John R. Brett of Norfolk, and H.P. Brett of Franklin; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Rites for Mrs. Brett were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. Richard H.L. Vananan, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Burial was in Beaver Dam Church cemetery. The pallbearers were Thomas Ashburn, Jr., Johnnie Brett, Johnnie Keifer, Robert Warren, Keifer, Stanley Varmette and Samuel H. Wilson, Jr. Mary V. (WHITE; Mrs. Robert D.)
