He was a native of Isle of Wight County, employed as a landfill operator for the City of Suffolk, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Smithfield. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grover Barrett; five daughters, Mrs. Jean Lockett and Mrs. Ginger Kirkman, both of Eustis, Fla., Mrs. Betty Peden of Smithfield, Miss Rita Faye Barrett of Appomattox, and Miss Dorothy Ellen Barrett of Tavares, Fla.; four sons, Jack R. Barrett Sr. and Daryl Wayne Barrett, both of Smithfield, L. Thomas Barrett of Atlanta Ga., and Roy Len Barrett of Leesburg; his father, Mills Thomas Barrett of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. Mary B. Wolley of Smithfield, and Mrs. Ethel B. Long of Hampton; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. Stephen Thompson and the Rev. Jesse R. Jones. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home. ****************************************************************************** Leonard T.
