ELISHA BRADSHAW Mrs. Blanche Rose Bradshaw, widow of the late Rev. Elisha Bradshaw a highly esteemed Isle of Wight citizen and former pastor of Mr. Carmel Christian Church at Walters, died of a heart attack at Raiford Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon presumably super-induced by monoxide gas poisoning while riding with her son, Lloyd Bradshaw, near Franklin. It was stated that the driver first noticed the presence of monoxide gas in the car when his dog became sick. Removing the animal to the luggage carrier of the car, he then saw that his mother appeared ill, while his son, Lloyd Bradshaw, Jr., was quite limp. Stopping two autos, he sent his mother, wife and son to the hospital here and was later treated at the hospital himself, all members of the family with the exception of his mother being released in about two and one-half hours. Mrs. Bradshaw, who was 58 years of age, was the daughter of the late John R. and Mrs. Elizabeth Vaughan Rose of Isle of Wight, and is survived by four sons, Samuel and Lloyd, of Franklin and Elisha, Jr., and James C. Bradshaw of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Shelton Carr of Norfolk and Mrs. Guy Holland of Baltimore; one grandchild, Lloyd Bradshaw, Jr., of Franklin; three brothers, three sisters and many other relatives. Funeral rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Rev. T. Fred Wright of Windsor, Dr. William T. Scott of Franklin and the Rev. Frank L. Rose, Jr., nephew of Mrs. Bradshaw, officiating. Burial was made in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery. The pallbearers were: W.E. Beale, Otis V. Joyner, Taylor Holland, Leanus Carr, Frank Johnson, Julian Carr, R.T. Bowden and Charlie Bland. Honorary bearers were nephews of Mrs. Bradshaw.
