M. Bradshaw The death, in her twenty seventh year*, of Mrs. Lucile Bradshaw, wife of Mr. W.M. Bradshaw, manager of the Pretlow farm near Franklin, occurred Saturday, January 25th, and was the occasion of universal sorrow among the many acquaintances of this lovable woman. Her going was particularly sad because of the fact that she left behind four small children. The sympathy of all is extended to the grief-stricken husband, parents, and brothers and sisters of the deceased, but the little children will be the ones to feel keenest the loss in future years, when they will miss the mother’s watchfulness and guidance. Too much cannot be said or written of the beautiful character of Mrs. Bradshaw. Those who came in contact with her daily life know her to have been a devoted wife and a tender, affectionate mother, ever diligent in the attendance upon her household cares and duties. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.T. Bradshaw of Nurneysville, Va., who survive her. She also leaves to mourn their loss her husband, W.M. Bradshaw; three little girls and a boy; five brothers, Lafayette, John and Herman Bradshaw of Nurneysville, F.B. Bradshaw of Suffolk, and W.L. Bradshaw of Courtland; and three sisters, Mrs. Wilber Vaughan of Portsmouth, Mrs. Charlie Gardner of Whaleyville, and Mrs. G.W. Wade of Franklin. The deceased was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church and the funeral services were conducted by Dr. C. H. Rowland from Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Sunday, January 26th, at 3 o’clock p.m., interment being in the Beaver Dam cemetery. The active pallbearers were R.A. Pretlow, W.T. Pace, Jr., W.H. Jones, Jr., R.I. Beale, Geo.H. Beale, Harry Steinhardt, Geo. H. Parker and W.O. Bristow.
