Hill Funeral Home. A daughter of the late Georgiana Hall Birdsong and Sidney Algernon Birdsong, Miss Birdsong was a native of Isle of Wight County. She attended the Suffolk College for Women and taught school for many years in Isle of Wight County, Southampton County, and Suffolk. She once served as librarian for the Suffolk High School. An active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Miss Birdsong also belonged to the Sans Souci Literary Club, the Suffolk Garden Club and was a former member of the Suffolk Woman's Club. She is survived by three brothers, Frank Birdsong, of Norfolk, Rosser P. Birdsong, of Philadelphia, and Silas Birdsong, of New York, and a number of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Burial will take place at the Antioch Christian Church cemetery in Isle of Wight County. ****************************************************************************** Funeral Yesterday For Miss Birdsong Funeral services for Miss Nannie Louise Birdsong were conducted yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home by the Rt. Rev. William A. Brown of Norfolk. The pall was of pink and white asters, pink roses and gladioli. Burial took place in Antioch Christian Church cemetery in Isle of Wight County. Pallbearers were: T.H. Birdsong, Jr., W.M. Birdsong, H.F. Birdsong, H.R. Birdsong, McLemore Birdsong, B.M. Birdsong, R.P. Birdsong, T.H. Birdsong, III. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** MISS NANNIE LOUISE BIRDSONG Miss Nannie Louise Birdsong, 78, daughter of the late Sidney Algernon Birdsong and Georgianna Hall Birdsong, died at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, July 10, in a Suffolk hospital. She was a native of Isle of Wight County. After attending the old Suffolk College for Women Miss Birdsong taught school for many years in Isle of Wight and Southampton counties and in Suffolk. At one time she served as librarian for the Suffolk High School. The deceased was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Sans Souci Literary Club, the Suffolk Garden Club, and was a former member of the Suffolk Woman's Club. She is survived by three brothers, Frank Birdsong of Norfolk, Rosser P. Birdsong of Philadelphia, Pa., and Silas Birdsong of New York City. The late Thomas H. Birdsong of Suffolk and Courtland was also her brother. Other survivors are nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home in Suffolk, with Rev. William A. Brown of Portsmouth officiating.
