Elisha Bradshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Bradshaw in the sad hours caused by the death of the former's mother, Mrs. Rhoda Bradshaw, Tuesday. [...] Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Carr arrived Tuesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Carr's grandmother, Mrs. Rhoda Bradshaw. [...] ****************************************************************************** MRS. RHODA L. BRADSHAW Mrs. Rhoda Lankford Bradshaw, 84, widow of John Bradshaw, died at her home in Isle of Wight County Tuesday. She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Elisha Bradshaw and Johnnie Bradshaw, of Walters; four daughters, Mrs. Flora Joyner and Mrs. F.A. Whitley of Carrsville; Mrs. B.W. Daughtrey and Mrs. Charlie Daughtrey of Franklin; one brother, Elihu Lankford; one sister, Mrs. Jane Duke of Carrsville; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. J.T. Garland Moore with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Willie Bradshaw, Walter Bradshaw, L.R. Griffin, Paul Lankford, N.R. Norfleet, Elvin Whitley, Lee Fowler and Julian Carr. D.Cert. 22517 (Windsor #4) She was the daughter of Elihu & Charlotte "Lottie" (CORBITT) LANKFORD. Her husband (1839 - 1922) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. F, 61st VA Infantry. Rhoda applied for a Confederate widow's pension 23 Nov 1934, stating John was wounded in service and had to use a crutch all his life and was unable to do much work. The application gives m. 1856 [err; 1877] and that John d. May 1923 [err; May 1922].
