All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Todie Bradshaw Dies in Hospital; Rites Friday Todie Whitt Bradshaw, 74, of Route 4, Suffolk, died at 3:50 a.m. today at the Obici Memorial Hospital after an illness of six months. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, near Chuckatuck. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and a retired farmer, and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Webb Bradshaw of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie May Bradshaw; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Gayle of Nansemond County and Mrs. Mary L. Leggett of Suffolk; eight sons, Grover L.; George W.; Clarence T.; James W.; Robert W.; T. Webster and Robert L., all of Nansemond County, and Paul E. Bradshaw of Portsmouth; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. D.Cert. 24044 (Chuckatuck #278) His parents are buried in Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. {IWCHS GSSTF report #56} His father (1848 - 1913) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry. He was captured 14 Sep 1862 at Crampton's Gap, MD, exchanged 2 Oct 1862, and captured again 27 Oct 1864 at Burgess' Mill, Dinwiddie Co. His widow applied for a pension 22 Apr 1913.
