HILDA FRAUGHNAUGH BARLOW 

  SMITHFIELD - Mrs. Hilda Fraughnaugh Barlow, 77, of Route 1 died Monday 
in a Newport News hospital.

  She was a native of Sparta and the widow of Charles Ryland Barlow Sr. 
She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.

  Survivors include three sons, Charles Ryland Barlow Jr. of Fullerton, 
Calif., William Payton Barlow of Smithfield, and Wayne Franguhaugh Barlow 
of Roanoke county; three sisters, Mr. Lyle Pond of Wakefield, Mrs. Gladys 
Moore of Fredericksburg, and Miss Kate Fraughnaugh of Sparta; two brothers, 
Lewis E. Franghnaugh of Newport News and William A. Fraughnaugh of Sparta; 
and five grandchildren.

  A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Smithfield Baptist Church 
by the Rev. Warren F. Taylor.  Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield. 
The family will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield.  The family will be at 
the home of son, William Payton Barlow.  Memorial donations may be made to the 
Virginia Baptist Children’s Home, Salem, or memorial fund of Smithfield Baptist 
Church.  Colonial Funeral Home has charge.
